New View Winter 2010-11 Article
A certain day became a presence to me;
there it was, confronting me — a sky, air, light:
a being. And before it started to descend
from the height of noon, it leaned over
and struck my shoulder as if with
the flat of a sword, granting me
honor and a task. The day’s blow
rang out, metallic — or it was I, a bell awakened,
and what I heard was my whole self
saying and singing what it knew: I can.

Frank Chester has been featured in the Winter 2010-11 New View magazine, in the third and final installment of a series exploring his unique artistic-scientific work.
The article, written by Tom Raines, entitled “The Discovery of the Heart Bell: The Work of Frank Chester, Part III” follows Part I and Part II which previously appeared in the Summer and Fall issues of New View.
This third and final piece focuses on how Frank’s discovery of the “heart bell” shape, arising from the spinning of his seven-faced Chestahedron form, relates to Rudolf Steiner’s Saturn seal. Raines describes Frank’s artistic process by which he made the two-dimensional seal into a three-dimensional form utilizing his heart bell, while hinting at its relation to the physical, etheric, astral, and ego bodies of the human being.
